1/6/25 Updates

For the new year, we have some new features designed to improve the user experience.

Personalized Due Dates

It has always been possible to add a Due Date to an evidence assignment in the project builder, and this due date gets applied to all learners assigned to this evidence. It is now possible to customize evidence due dates by learner. A due date set in the project builder now functions as the default due date for that evidence. Adjustments for each learner can be made in your Class module.

In your Classes module, if you click on the grid icon to the right of the class name, you see a grid showing the evidence status for each learner, for all evidence within each project. A new Due Date tab has been added in the far right of the page. Click Due Date to access a grid to set due dates for each learner within each project.

Available actions:
  1. Enter an individual due date by clicking on a cell
  2. Use a bulk action to enter or update an evidence due date for a whole column
  3. Return to a default due date (entered in Project Builder) for an individual cell or using bulk actions.
  4. Remove a due date altogether
Due dates will appear in red if they have already passed, and in orange if they are coming due in the next week.

Due dates entered on this Due Date Grid overwrite the default date set in the project builder, and will appear in the learner's view. Modified due dates, along with the original default due dates, will soon be included in the Students All Details data export.

It may take a moment for due dates entered in bulk to appear on the grid. If you don't yet see them, a teacher can click on the Operations button to see whether the bulk updates are still processing.

Learner's Class Page - Speedier Load Times

When students open a class, they are now asked to select a project to see its details, and have the ability to view their class Skills Portfolio on demand. They now select a project and the details will appear in the right panel as usual. To see their class portfolio, they should click on the purple View Portfolios button in the class header.

Making this data available on demand has significantly increased the speed of class load times, and we will be releasing additional speed improvements in coming weeks.

Session Security

To preserve the data and integrity of your LiFT session, we have introduced two new features related to connectivity and session length. First, should there be any internet interruptions on your end, LiFT will alert you that you are offline so that you can't make any entries (that might be lost) until your internet has been restored again. Secondly, if a teacher or learner has been away from their computer for a while, before they can enter new data they will be prompted to respond to a popup. To keep working, simply click stay to continue working.

Lastly, a small change was made to the teacher Class portal, intended to reduce clicks when switching classes. LiFT now will remember which tab you were on (Projects, Portfolios, Outcomes) and will deliver you to that same tab in the new class.
