Delete Skills That Have Been Directly Assigned to a Class
As you read in the November 17 Update, you can assign Skills to Classes (or selected students within classes) without tagging the Skills to Evidence. In case you accidentally assigned the wrong skills, you can delete those directly-assigned Skills in your Classes>Portfolio page. If you delete a skill to which ratings and evidence have already been added, and you later reassign the skill, the rating and evidence will return.
Click on the Enable Delete checkbox in the upper right corner of your screen. You will then be able to click on cells that have been directly assigned and they will be highlighted in a blue border. If it is not a directly-assigned Skill, then it will not highlight when you attempt to click on that cell. To delete the selected skills, click on the blue Delete button. If you change your mind and don't want to delete any highlighted skills, click on the checkbox which now reads Disable delete.
If you try to delete a skill using this feature and it doesn't go away, it is because that skill was tagged as a target skill within a project. Those tagged target skills can only be removed from your Portfolio page by deleting the target skills within the project editor.
New Parent Portfolio Modal
Using a LiFT portfolio grade policy, you have three options for the calculation of your Parent Skill suggested grade, which are set by your LiFT Facilitator:
- The Parent Portfolio can be the average of the Child Skill Portfolio ratings.
- The Parent Portfolio can be the average of all of the Child Skill Evidence ratings.
- The Parent Portfolio can be the average of all the Evidence tagged to the Parent Skill (just like all the Child Skills).
We've made some changes to give you a more holistic view of the portfolio, what is in it, and how calculations are being made. When you open a Portfolio cell for a Parent Skill, the window now displays a summary the grading policy that is in place for that Parent Skill. You will also see two lists of Evidence. The first list is all the Evidence that was tagged to the Parent Skill (even if that Evidence is not included in the calculations for that Skill's Portfolio Grade.) The second list is all of the Evidence that was tagged to any Child Skills (again, even if that evidence isn't directly included in that Parent Skill's Portfolio Grade).
New Notification Center
In the upper right corner of your LiFT screen, you (and your students) will find a new Notifications icon - the one that looks like a bell, with the number of unread notifications indicated in the attached blue circle. When you click on it, your most recent notifications will appear in the pop-up window. Click View all notifications at the bottom of the window to see a full list of your notifications. Clicking on a blue View button will take you directly to the specific Artifact or Comment in your filtered Evidence Table. In the upper right corner of your full list of notifications, you can click on "Mark all as read" to reset your notification counter.
Every time a learner sends a comment or submits Evidence for review, you will receive the in-app notification. Your LiFT Support Team can set school-wide email notifications for you as well. With the new Notifications Center now in place, we have reset all schools to only email learners (in addition to the in-app notifications) when a teacher sends a comment or returns Evidence for revision. If you would like us to enable any additional email notifications to all your teachers when a student comments or sends evidence, or to students and/or teachers around requests to unlock evidence, please let your LiFT Support Team know and we will make those updates for you.
