Outcomes - Class Grades and Reporting

Class Grades and information that appears on LiFT reports are found in the Outcomes tab of your Classes Module.

Class Grades

When you open the Outcomes tab for a Class, you will see a list of all the Learners in that Class. Under each Learner’s name, there is a space for a Class Grade. If you click on that grade or the gear icon to the right of it, the left pane will open up with a list of all Skills assigned in this Class, along with the assessment of that Skill for this Learner’s.

If your school opts to provide a Class Grading Policy, LiFT will suggest a Class Grade that averages the ratings of the assigned skills. By unchecking an assigned Skill, you remove that Skill from the calculation so that you control what Skills are counted. You can either use the LiFT-suggested Class Grade or provide your own.

Once you have determined a Learner’s Class Grade, you can decide when to share that Class Grade with the Learner. Using the toggle to the right of the Class Grade, you can change or hide an individual Learner’s Class Grade. To share Glass Grades with multiple students, you can Select All or check the Learners you wish to change and then use the Bulk Actions drop down menu to either “Display grade to learner” or “Hide grade”.

Reports

LiFT offers a reporting feature that creates customized reports for each learner. Your school’s LiFT Facilitator will determine which combination of the three report formats that LiFT offers to order: A Class Summary Report, A Class Detail Report, and a Global Skills Report. The Class Summary and Detail Reports are class-specific. The Global Skills Report will reflect either the “Most Recent Rating” or the “Highest Rating Ever” for each Skill Portfolio, irrespective of class.

Class Summary Report

Class Detail Report

Global Skills Report

The Global Skills Report details assessment of each Skill Portfolio across all classes over all time. To learn more about the source of these assessments, read the Combined Portfolios article (ad link).

In addition to the ratings for each of the learner’s Skill Portfolios, there are optional elements in the reports that you or your learners may be asked to enter in advance of running the reports:

  • An On Track Status can be included on the Class Summary Report and/or the Class Detail Report. This is a simple flag that you enter to indicate whether the Learner is On Track or Needs Attention in a particular class.

  • Narrative Teacher Comments can be included on the Class Summary Report. These are brief comments that you enter for each Learner in each of your classes.

  • Learner Reflections can also be included on the Class Summary Report. These are brief comments that your Learners enter for each class.

  • A Learner’s Self-Rating of each Skill Portfolio in each class can also be included in both the Class Summary Report and the Global Skills Report.

The On Track Status and Teacher Comments are entered in the Outcomes Tab. If the Learner has already entered his/her/their Refections, they will also be visible here.

Where Learners Enter Their Reflections

The Learners Interface is still under development and will be available August 2022. Thank you for your patience.
