What's Where

Your Profile

At the top of the page, throughout the platform, you are able to access a drop down menu to manage your Account. You met this drop down menu in the last article when you established Single Sign On to access Google Drive Templates. Here you can also

  • Manage Your Account to update your LiFT Password
  • Change Roles if you function as both a LiFT Teacher and a LiFT Facilitator

Your Project Library

When you log in, you will land in your Project Library. All projects are found in your Project Library, where you create and edit your Projects. In one glance, you can see how many steps are in a Project and how many Classes and Learners have been assigned to the Project. The icons at the right end of the Project allow you to:

  1. Preview a Project - see what it looks like to your students
  2. View a Project - quickly see the steps with their evidence, and the learners assigned. From there you can copy a Project to your Project Library or send it to a colleague, using a button in the top right of your screen
  3. Edit a Project - takes you straight into the Project Builder
  4. Copy a Project - takes you to the Project View where you can copy a Project to your Project Library
  5. Send a Project - Select a fellow teacher at your school and LiFT will send a unique copy of the project to their Project Library. Any modifications that teacher makes to your Project will not effect your original Project

The Left Sidebar

The left sidebar panel is where you navigate between LiFT modules. From the Term drop down menu at the top of the sidebar, you can easily navigate from the current term back to prior terms to view and engage with Projects or Student Evidence from past terms.

Your Classes

When you click on Classes, the sidebar will expand to list each of the Classes to which you are assigned. By clicking on a specific Class – in the example below, American Lit – three tabs will be available that relate to that specific Class:

  • Projects – monitor student work, provide feedback, evaluate and send Evidence to portfolios
  • Portfolios– review Evidence accumulating in Skill Portfolios, use the LiFT-suggested* assessment for each Skill Portfolio or provide your own, add additional evidence directly into a Skill Portfolio
  • Outcomes – use the LiFT-suggested* Class Grade or add your own, decide when to share class grades with your students, provide a status update (On Track or Needs Attention), record you class comments and view your learners’ class reflections

*Please note that LiFT-suggested Skill Portfolio Assessments and LiFT-suggested Class Grades are calculated according to a grading policy established by your LiFT Facilitator to conform with your school’s instructional model. Teachers always have the option to accept the suggested assessment or grade, or provide their own instead.

Combined Portfolios

Combined Portfolios is a module where you can track a learner’s progress in all assigned Skills, across all Classes, over time. You can see all evidence that has accumulated in each Skill Portfolio, view the criteria for Assessment of each skill, see both Teacher and Learner Ratings, and assess the overall Skill Portfolio if appropriate.

Your Evidence Table

In one place, you can see and interact with all your students' Evidence in a single table that you can search or filter by Learner, Evidence or Project Name, Class or Status.

Your Learner View

Open your Learners module and you can drop in and see how any of your Learners are doing in all of their Classes. Find a Learner and click on one of their Classes to enter a view-only, non-clickable version of their LIFT portal.
