This update provides a number of improvements to streamline the user experience, clarify workflows, and improve performance speeds.
Let's start with some of the improvements to the Classes -> Projects page:
- The first new feature you will likely notice is the addition of custom Colors and Abbreviations to your rubric ratings boxes. If you don't see any color, we never heard back from you with your preferred color and abbreviation scheme. We will reach out to you again now that this feature has been implemented for both teachers and students.
- We have improved how the navigation bar on the left collapses, leaving only icons for each module when fully collapsed. This is helpful for students and teachers alike to manage screen space and improve navigation on both tablet and desktop. If you collapse the side panel, you will need to re-open it to navigate to other classes or to other modules.
- We have streamlined the Artifact viewer that opens when you click on an Artifact. Now, in one place, you can simultaneously read and interact with the Artifact, respond with a comment, rate the Evidence, and add it to Portfolios. You can also use the Previous/Next buttons to go from student to student (in View by Evidence mode) or Artifact to Artifact (in View by Learner mode).
- The Class Counts table that indicates learner status on evidence are now hidden from view until requested. This is helping speed up class load times and reduce the information on the screen. Teachers can still access or hide status counts with the Count toggle.
- To save space, the filters are hidden until requested. Click the blue filter button to access them.
- There is now an Active Project filter where you will find both Archived Projects and Quick Projects.
- We've simplified the Projects-Evidences-Learners or Projects-Learners-Evidences labels to now read View by Evidence (the default) or View by Learner.
- After entering a keyword search term, you can now simply hit <Enter>.
- Don't know what a Quick Project (aka Quick Evidence) is? See last fall's 10/20/23 Update about it.
- You can now tell how many comments there are before clicking on the new Comments icon to the right of the Artifact link.
- The Approved Skill feature has been removed from the evidence page as it was causing some confusion. Teachers can still mark a skill as Approved in the Class Portfolio and in the Combined Portfolio.
- And finally, we also have the ability to replace the LiFT logo with your school's logo. If you would like to do this, please send your preferred logo file to Karen at karen@liftlearning.com.
In the next few months we will be rolling out many more updates for you. As always, we welcome your feedback and are grateful to be building brighter futures, together.
The LiFT team
