For Clever Schools

For Clever Schools

As a school that uses Clever, your Teachers and Learners access LiFT directly through Clever, and all of your rostering is managed through Clever. That means that many of the topics addressed in this Online Help Center don’t apply to you, including:

  • Creating Terms & Classes
  • Creating Teacher & Student Accounts
  • Account Activation by Users
  • Logging into LiFT URLs

Articles that don’t apply to you are so noted in red italics at the very top of the article.

Establishing Your Clever Integration

Due to the unique qualities of every Clever set up, it is important to set-up the Clever/LiFT integration together with a LiFT technical advisor and your IT team. If your school is on Clever and that integration is not yet underway, please email support@liftlearning.com to request an appointment to initiate your Clever/LiFT integration.

Initiating Other Integrations

To take advantage of the Google Template feature in LiFT, we strongly recommend that you also initiate a Google/LiFT integration. Although possibly unnecessary if everyone logs into LiFT with Clever, you can also set up Single Sign On (SSO) integrations with Canvas, Schoology and Microsoft. Directions for initiating all integrations are found in Integrations.

To complete the Google/LiFT integration, be sure to have both your Teachers and Students also do the Single Sign On process. They need to first log into LiFT through Clever, when they’re in LiFT, they select Single Sign On from the drop-down menu in the upper right corner next to their name.

Adding Test Accounts

You will find it helpful to add a couple of test student and teacher accounts to be available for training and the testing of features. Since your rostering is automated by Clever, you cannot create these test accounts in LiFT. To add student or teacher accounts that don’t sync with your SIS, use these instructions from Clever.

To confirm that your Google integration is properly established, we also recommend that you take one of your Custom Student Accounts and assign a Google account/drive to it.

To Test the Automatic Sharing of Google Templates

  1. Log into your teacher account (through Clever) and be sure that you have completed the SSO process yourself.
  2. Create a Project and assign your Custom Student to it. Add a Step with an Evidence assignment that includes a Google Drive Resource from your Google drive.
  3. Log out of LiFT and then log back in as your Custom Student (through Clever).
  4. Click on the arrow to the right of your Google-enabled Custom Student’s name, select Single Sign On to complete the SSO process for this account.
  5. Navigate to the Evidence assignment you created in the Custom Student’s Workspace tab, and click on the Evidence.
  6. You should see and be able to click the Start button to access the Google template. Clicking the Start button starts the LiFT process of sharing your file to the student’s drive. Make a change to the Google template and then click on the Send for Revision button to return the Evidence to you (as a teacher).
  7. Log out of LiFT as the Custom Student and log back into LiFT as yourself/Teacher (through Clever).
  8. Navigate to the Evidence in your Projects tab. It is now marked for Review by you. Open it to verify the change that you made in Step 6. You have now confirmed that your Google integration is working properly.

Sharing the credentials of the Google-enabled Custom Student accounts with your Teachers also gives them the chance to explore the Student experience of LiFT, including how the Google Templates work.

Key Takeaways about Clever

Clever/LiFT integrations must be initiated together with a LiFT technical advisor.
Do not proceed to initiate a Clever integration without your LiFT representative.

If you are a Clever school, some articles in this Help Center
do not apply to you, and are labeled accordingly.
