In LIFT, your work is organized into Projects, which contain Steps, and the Steps may contain Evidence assignments. When you click on Classes in the left panel of your screen, a list of all of your classes will appear, and the center window will open up with a list of all the Projects in the selected Class.
Next to each Project is a series of numbers, with icons above. You can hover over the icons to learn what they mean - Assigned (but not yet started), In Progress, Completed, Overdue and Comments. This is to give you a quick idea of how you're doing with the Projects in that class. By way of example, in the Project named Making a Business Plan above, you have one Evidence assignment you have not yet started, one that's in progress, two that have already been completed and nothing is overdue. Click on any Project to get started.
Project Overview
When you click on a Project from the list, LiFT will open to the Project Description in the center panel, and its Steps (red arrows) and Evidence (green arrows) in the right panel.
The Project Description in the center is where your teacher will give you some context for the whole Project. Each Step name is displayed in Blue - Conceive, Create and The Investor Pitch in the above example. Click on the View Details button to the right of each Step to open it up.
Step Detail
Like the Project Description, the Step Description will display in the center panel to give you instruction of what to do for the Step. The right detail panel remains the same. A Step can include one or more Evidence Assignments, or none at all.
The Project/Step view gives you many important tools:
- Step Resources - Below the Step Description you may find links to online Resources your teacher provided generally for the Step as a whole.
- Evidence Resources - Below the Evidence name you may find links to online Resources your teacher provided specifically for the Evidence assignment itself.
- Status - The current Status of your Evidence is displayed to quickly see what remains to be done.
- Skills - If your teacher has tagged your Evidence to specific skills, those skills will be displayed here. By clicking on any Skill, details about that Skill will open in the center panel, including a definition of each Skill Level used to assess that Skill if provided by your school.
- Ratings - If your teacher has already evaluated your Evidence, even if it is not yet complete, ratings for each Skill will be shown here. You can hover over the boxes to see what they mean.
- Skill Weighting - Some Evidence is more significant than others. Your teacher has the option to weight one or more Skills tagged to a particular Evidence more or less than 1x. The higher the number in the blue circle, the more important the Evidence/Skill is.
- Comments - Click on Comments and the center panel will show any comments back and forth with your teacher about this Evidence assignment, and provides a timeline of your Artifact submissions.
- Action Buttons - The colored buttons on the right end help you execute your task and change depending upon the current status. If you click on the blue Add Artifact or View Artifact button, the center panel will show or update the Artifact if it has already been submitted, or to add it for the first time. To submit your assignments, you click on the orange Send for Review button.
