How to Submit Non-Google Evidence

How to Submit Non-Google Evidence

You've figured out how to see the whole Project, and then learn about a particular Step within the Project. Now it's time to submit your Evidence (aka Artifact of Learning). If the Evidence doesn't use a Google Template, then you are invited to create the Evidence yourself and upload it into LiFT.

How to Tell Whether It Doesn't Use a Google Template

If Evidence does not use a Google Template, then there is just a darker-blue Add Artifact button.

What Files Can You Use for Evidence

You can upload pretty much any kind of file that you can imagine, or paste in a URL. If a file is exorbitantly large (that means really, really big), then LiFT will let you know. Possible file types include:
  1. Links to Google docs, including Docs, Sheets, Slides - just paste in the link
  2. MS Word, Excel, Power Point - just upload the file
  3. JPG images
  4. PDFs
  5. MP3 Sound Files
  6. MP4 or MOV Video files
How you use different files types for different Evidence is an exercise in creativity. Your teacher may specify what they want you to submit, but consider your options:
  1. If you're making a presentation or doing an activity, have someone take a video of you
  2. If you've created a physical object, take a photo of it
  3. Make a podcast or audio recording and submit the recording as a MP3 sound file
  4. If you've done an assignment on paper, you can take a photo of it

How to Add Your Artifact

When you're ready to submit your Evidence (aka Artifact), click on the blue Add Artifact button.

When you do that, the center panel will open to Artifact Preview, but there's not yet any Artifact there. Go ahead and click on the green Add button.

When you do so, you will have two options - either to add Evidence from a file, or from a link. Click on the appropriate button.
  1. Adding a File - If you're adding a file from your computer, click on Choose File, find the file on your computer and then click on the Update button which will turn green once you've selected a file.
  2. Pasting a Link - If you're adding a link from the internet, pull that link up on your computer, copy the link from the browser (including the http or https) and paste it into the box. When you're done, click on the Update button which will turn green once you've added the link.

How to Submit Your Evidence

Once you've attached your Evidence, its Status will change to In Progress and an orange Send For Review button will appear. Go ahead and click on the Send for Review button.

You will get a message that says Evidence successfully submitted and the button you just clicked changes to red and says Under Review. Now you're just waiting for your teacher to review your Evidence and get back to you. It's a great idea to send your teacher a note, letting them know what you did and maybe even telling them how you were focusing on specific skills. Just click on the Comments link to enter a text-like message to your teacher.

Your teacher may mark your evidence Complete, or they may return it to you for revision. If they do want you to revise your Evidence, the button will turn orange and say Submit Revision.

Click on the blue View Artifact button and it will open up in the center panel. To see a larger version of it, click on the expand icon (in upper right corner) or the blue View button below. You can download the Artifact to make changes to it, or edit your original Evidence. When you're ready to re-submit it to your teacher, click on the green Update button and you can again add either a revised file or a new link. When you're done, return to LIFT tab and click on Submit Revision to send it back to your teacher.

And now the button turns red again and says Under Review and you're back to waiting for your teacher to mark you Evidence complete, or return it to you for another round of revisions.
