How to See What Learners See

How to See What Learners See

It's really important to be able to see the LiFT platform - and the projects you are building - through a Learner's perspective. There are two ways to do this: As you are building projects, and an overall view of all a Learner's classes.

See What Your Projects Look Like to Students

In your Project Library, you can now see a preview of your projects that is virtually identical to what your students see. There is an icon to the right of each project in your Project Library.

When you click on that icon, the Project will display just like your students see it. The middle pane displays your Project Description. In the right detail panel, each Step is in blue and when you click on the View Details button next to it, the Step Description displays in the center pane. Your Step Evidence Resources are listed beneath the Evidence Name; Step Resources are listed beneath the Step Description.

Click the X in the upper right corner of the center pane to return to the Project Description from a Step Description, or again to return to your Project Library.

It's a great practice see what your projects look like before finalizing them.

See How a Learner is Doing in Any Class with the Learner View

Click on the Learners module at the bottom of your left navigation pane to reveal a list of each of your students and all of their classes; you will not see students who are not assigned to any of your classes. You can filter the list by learner name or class to find the student you're looking for and then scroll to the right to access the class you're interested in.

Click on a class and then, within that Class, you can see their class status (On Track or Needs Attention) and class grade, if the class grade has been selected by a teacher to be shared with the Learner. You can also scroll through the tagged skills and ratings in that Class. To toggle to a different Class for that Learner, you don't need to return to the list as above, just use the Class dropdown in the center pane.

Click on a Project, and you see its details in a view only/non-clickable display. Well, mostly non-clickable, the View Artifact button is clickable, but you cannot add or delete Artifacts.

To view another student, click on the back arrow to the right of the LiFT logo in the upper left corner to return to the list of students and their classes.
