How to Unstick (Refresh) Google
When a learner starts a Google Template assignment, LiFT automatically gives the student and co-teachers permission to access the document as 'writer'. Every now and again Google gets a little tied up in knots and doesn't set the permissions. When this happens and you try to open the document, you get a message that you need to request access to a document.
If this happens to you or your student, you can go to your Evidence table, search the Evidence assignment, and give the Google permissions a refresh by clicking on the refresh icon in the far right column. In most cases, this will create the expected permissions for you and your student, and you will receive a success message. Occasionally, if LiFT can't determine the Google identity of the student, a popup will ask you to make sure the student has completed the Single-Sign On process. If you've tried to refresh Google Permissions on an assignment where a Google template was not used, you will get a message indicating there is no Google template attached to this evidence.
