Account Activation

Account Activation

This article does not apply to schools with a Clever/LiFT integration. Everyone at a Clever school accesses LiFT directly through Clever.

Before anyone can access LiFT, you must first create an Account for them. Creating Accounts is addressed in the article, Creating Teacher & Student Accounts. Once you have created an account, each user – Teacher or Learner – must activate their own account.

Activating Accounts

There are two recommended ways to initiate the Account activation process:

  • Send User an Invitation, or
  • Have them log in via Google

Method 1: Send an Invitation

To send an invitation to a New User, go to the appropriate module on your Facilitator Dashboard – Teachers or Students – find the User you wish to invite, click on the Actions button and then select Send Invitation from the drop down menu. LiFT will send an email to that User inviting them to activate their account by clicking on a link in the email and following the prompts to create their password.

Method 2: Login via Google

Assuming that you have a LiFT-Google integration already in place, new users are able to activate their account by simply logging in via Google. Thereafter, this may be the most convenient login path.

Teachers log in at teacher.mylift.io

Learners log in at learner.mylift.io

(We recommend Users bookmark these URLs)

After clicking on the login button with the Google icon in it, they will be asked to to select their school-based Google address and then allow Edlink (our third-party integration partner) to access their Google account in order to connect it with their LiFT account.

If the User has any problems connecting, they should click the Sign Out of All Accounts button (in red) on the Google account page and start again.

This login path has the added benefit of including the Google Single Sign On process (aka SSO) that is required for the use of Google Templates.

Backup Plan

It's advisable for every User to set a personal password in LiFT so that they can always log on using their email address and their password in the event that there are ever issues with Google. To do that, they can click on their name once they're in LIFT, and then select Manage Account to enter and reset their password.

What's Important to Understand

You must first create all Accounts before anyone will be able to
access and/or activate their LiFT account.

LiFT Accounts are activated by the user, but you get the process
started as your school/district’s LiFT Facilitator.
